Rev: in Arabic الاردو al-Urdu / الاعظمal-azam / Mongolian Uyghur in Arabic script / mint name KWRM in Uighur below (Qorum). This is the earliest & only Mongol Dinar with Mint place in Mongolia, historically important example, Among the finest examples known. Unpublished in Album’s checklist. Very Interesting Bilingual Dinar & Extremely Rare. Attractive good VF.

* Qara Qorum was an important place for Mongols, located in Mongolia and was the administrative capitol of the Great Mongols before they moved their capital to China in 1260. The mint was the medieval Mongolian capital of Karakorum, now Kharkhorin in Mongolia, Near west of the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar. Qara Qorum is now a preserved historic cite in central Mongolia. one of the most important cities in the history of the Silk Road was Karakorum (Mongolian.: Khara-Khorin). founded under Chingis Khan in AD 1220.
*In 1218–1219, Genghis Khan rallied his troops for the campaign against the Khwarazmian Empire in a place called Karakorum, but the actual foundation of a city is usually said to have occurred only in 1220. Until 1235, Karakorum seems to have been little more than a yurt town, after the defeat of the Jin empire, Genghis' successor Ögedei erect city walls and build a fixed palace. Ögedei Khan gave the decree to build the Tumen Amgalan Ord (Palace of Myriad Peace; Wan'angong in Chinese) in 1235 the year after he defeated the Jin dynasty.
